This is George. He has probably come from a pheasant breeding station in the woods behind us, and we have given him sanctuary. George is very happy eating the seed we put out for him and the other ground feeders. The goldfinches (very messy eaters) throw him lots more from the hanging feeders.
He isn’t tame, but he is so used to us walking about that he just quietly moves out of the way when we go near. He also takes a few liberties – one of them being taking dust baths in the middle of my Gazanias! Chris got a nice video of him taking full advantage.
I’m going to do a drawing of him as soon as I complete the red lighthouse and the eagle owl I’m working on at the moment.
